Free viral DNA present in BKV hamster osteosarcoma (Os-513) cell clones.

چکیده
We analyzed 10 clones from cell line Os-513, which has originated from a BK virus-induced hamster osteosarcoma and contains only free defective viral DNA, for viral DNA by electrophoresis followed by blot hybridization. Like the parental line, all the clones contained both monomeric and polymeric viral DNA. The quantities of viral DNA per cell differed among the clones and the subclones. The results suggest that, although the number of copies of viral genomes per cell is variable, the basic forms of free viral DNA in the transformed cells are stably inherited by the progeny cells during cell growth.

Childhood Facial Osteosracoma: a Case Report
Osteosarcoma (OS) is the eighth common cancer of childhood and its incidence is 4 cases in one million in children younger than 14. Facial OS incidence is estimated between 8 and 10% of OS cases. The main etiology of OS is unknown, but various predisposing factors are proposed such as radiation, radiotherapy, some benign bone diseases like Paget’s disease or fibrous dysplasia. There is a 5-year...

Introduction: Introduction: Molecular components within the microenvironment act upon cell growth, survival/apoptosis, and proliferation. Immune system cells respond to molecules produced by the tumor and released in the surrounding microenvironment, such as cytokines, chemokines, and growth factors. This study aimed to identify the effects of tumor environment on monocyte-macrophage cell linea...

متن کاملImmunocytochemical localization of T antigen in cells of BK virus-induced hamster brain tumor.
The localization of both the large T and small t tumor (T) antigens in cultured cells (Vn 12 cells) of hamster brain tumors induced with BK virus (BKV), a new human papovavirus, was studied by an enzyme labelled antibody method at both the light and electron microscopic levels. Under the light microscope, BKV T antigen was observed in the nucleus, except for the nucleoli, of cells in interphase...
متن کاملHigh Expression of XRCC6 Promotes Human Osteosarcoma Cell Proliferation through the β-Catenin/Wnt Signaling Pathway and Is Associated with Poor Prognosis
Increasing evidences show that XRCC6 (X-ray repair complementing defective repair in Chinese hamster cells 6) was upregulated and involved in tumor growth in several tumor types. However, the correlation of XRCC6 and human osteosarcoma (OS) is still unknown. This study was conducted with the aim to reveal the expression and biological function of XRCC6 in OS and elucidate the potential mechanis...
